Cooking is like love — it should be entered into with abandon or not at all. - Harriet Van Horne

Los Angeles is full of great places to get some grub. In fact that's how I spend most of my social time. Grabbing a bite at my favorite café. One of which is Simple Things Sandwhich and Pie Shop on W 3rd Street in Los Angeles. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming as are the employees. My favorite menu item has to be the Thanksgiving Sandwhich: roast turkey, cranberry chutney, jalapeño cornbread stuffing, sage gravy, on a michetti roll. Finsh that off and get yourself a Banoffee Pie (that's right: banana and coffee). But I have never been dissapointed with anything else I have tried there. Today had to be brunch. Matt had himself the Hash: corned beef, sweet potato, poached eggs, complete with toast.

And my sweet tooth dove into the French Toast: filled with marscapone, and topped with blueberries.

Do yourself a favor and have a bite.

Thank me later.

Successful Saturday: Clothes. Brunch. Mimosas. Girl Talk.

What a brilliant idea: Clothes Swap.

Three things I sincerly apprciate are clothes, girlfriends, and brunch. Tie those together and you end up with a total girls afternoon. I recommend this to all of you ladies. There are so many great pieces of clothing that I haven't given much love to. They sit in my closet sad and unfulfilled because I can't seem to find it in me to donate. But knowing a girlfriend of mine can put that old summer dress to use makes me feel so much better about giving it away, knowing it has a good home. Plus you get to bring back great treasures for no $! Whatever's left goes to donations and Goodwill.

Springs coming: get cleaning. :)

Change of Ambition

Church and Starbucks. Habitual creatures we are.

Yesterday at my church (Reality LA), Pastor Tim discussed a topic that really hit home for me. Ambition. We are taught that ambition is either a good or bad trait. But it is both. We are made to have ambition. The artist may love his brushes, his paint, his gallery, but he should never let the work itself blind what romanced him from the start: the creating. Ambition should never end with you being the "product". It is meant to be shared and spread. We are ALL blessed with unique talents and gifts that must be used to serve others. That's where our ambition TRUELY flourishes. We should choose a life of servitude over one that builds a personal throne. We spend so much time "looking at the stars when we should be looking to our neighbor."

I have been trying to think of ways to make this blog more than just inspiration for you fellow fashion lovers. I wanted it to be and mean more than just endless photos of me in my "swag" apparel.

So from here forth I will do something that's a bit frightening to me. WRITE. I will be the first to say I don't know much about life, but the few things I learn along the way I will do my best to share. If I live for the applaud and approval of man, I will die by their criticism. With that said I shall face this fear of writing in hopes that maybe someone out there will gain something more than "what to wear out this weekend."

Just add water. And a little dash of love.
Nothing like some pancakes when you feel a little under the weather.
Especially when you have someone to pass you the syrup.
