"That's been one of my mantras - focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains." - Steve Jobs
Simplicity. Isn't it crazy how we tend to think the more complex an idea, solution, or story the more intelligent? I've found, especially in my acting, the more we can fine tune simple matters of life, the more of an impact we can make. When we complicate things we cloud up possible outcomes or results. We get distracted. If we stuck to the basics of what we DO know and made the most of it, we would little by little develop an overall understanding than if we bit off huge bites, choking as we chewed. There is beauty in simplicity, it's versatile. When you express life in honesty it can impact humanity. Simplicity doesn't mean unintelligent, it means a fact in the human condition has been discovered unembellished.
"Nothing is more simple than greatness; indeed, to be simple is to be great." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"It is not a daily increase, but a daily decrease. Hack away at the inessentials." - Bruce Lee
"Knowledge is a process of piling up facts; wisdom lies in their simplification." - Martin H. Fischer
